I first heard the Distillers when they opened up at the No Doubt/Garbage show at Cox Arena in November 2002. Not impressed. And then I kept reading about Brody Dalle and how everyone was calling her the new Courtney Love. (If you remember, Courtney used to date Billy Corgan. And she bailed on Billy for Kurt. At the time, everyone said it was because she knew that her career would go farther with Kurt.) So Brody was married to Rancid’s Tim Armstrong and left him for Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. All right, not too cool, but really, why do I care? If you’re talented, who cares who you’re sleeping with? (I guess it just bugs me to hear about that kind of crap. I think I have this idea that women in rawk shouldn’t need to be sleeping with someone successful to get someone to listen to them.)
