Get Me Some Spirit
I’ve been having a hard time getting into the spirit of the holidays this year. I could blame my car accident, but I don’t think that’s it. In a way, I think my accident has been helping me get some things done.
For example, for the longest time, I’ve wanted to write one of those holiday letters to put into my Christmas cards. And I actually did one this year. On Snowflake paper even! And then there is what I did last night. I am making a CD of songs that remind me of this year. And I have spent a bunch of time working on it, getting the songs together and writing liner notes. I was finally happy with the liner notes, so I made the cover for the CD’s. Not on the computer though. I went through some magazines and did a cover using print ads. It looks pretty sweet. So I went to Kinkos and spent about $20 making color copies. I know, it would have been cheaper to scan it and then print it out. But it was fun doing it the old school way.
Anyways, I think I’m finally getting there. But I have other things that I have to make it through before I can totally concentrate on Christmas. Travis’ birthday is on Sunday and I have a gazillion things to do to get ready for that. (I won’t go into it here in case he’s lurking around.) And tonight is my roommate’s birthday, so I am making dinner for us. Oh yeah, and my sister is trying to plan a wedding in the midst of all this. Excuse me while I primal scream. And then I’ll go put some Christmas music on and everything will be ducky.
