Which Mythological Form Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

rawk on »

dem
You are Form 8, Demon: The Destroyer.

"And The Demon took advantage of the chaos and seized civillization. With grace and style, Demon slit The Goddess's belly and drowned the world in her blood. The Goddess, The Demon, and the world were no more."

Some examples of the Demon Form are Seth (Egyptian) and The Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Christian). The Demon is associated with the concept of destruction, the number 8, and the element of earth. His sign is the full moon.

As a member of Form 8, you are a very strong willed individual. You don't let others' opinions sway your own and you're usually not afraid to speak your mind. However, some may see you as a bit overly passionate but it's just because you never back down from your values. No matter what, you always do everything with style. Demons are the best friends to have because they will back you up.

Strong willed? Check. Not afraid to speak my mind? Check. Overly passionate, never back down? Double check.

Oh and I'm all over the full moon.

Describe Yourself (in a hundred words or less)

 Memes - stuff about me

Because you really want to know these things. Seen at Space Kitten.

I am: woman, hear me roar.

I know: you know everything - I know you didn’t mean it. Taking Back Sunday lyrics. I am a lyric girl, what can you do? If I hear a melody and actually read the lyrics, I’ll always be able to sing along. Sometimes very annoying since stuff at karaoke can be very lame.

I have: an unhealthy obsession for the radio. First it was sports talk (Jim Rome) and now it’s FM 94/9. But I am quickly becoming addicted to my Launchcast station.

I wish: that The Guy I Really Like and I could figure things out before I start to completely freak out.

I miss: my best friend, Patrick, who lives in Norway. I wish he was around so I didn’t have to deal with time zones when I call him. And I would love to be around to see his daughter grow up. But he’s lived there for 10 years now and the fact we are still friends just shows me our relationship is stronger than ever.

I hate: when I am being a whiny girl. Usually boy related. Damn them.

I fear: that I will never be content with being with just one guy. I mean, you get married and you’re supposed to have sex with the same person for the rest of your life? Right now, I can’t imagine. But if there’s someone out there that can make me not want to sleep with other guys, then it’s all good.

I hear: the clicking of keyboards and people on the phone with clients.

I search: for the next new place to visit.

rawk on »

I wonder: if I'll ever be a mom. I love the idea of being a mom. And I would love to adopt a Chinese girl. I think it's so sad that the laws in China (and their obsession with having boys) makes parents give up daughters so they can try to have a boy instead.

I regret: when I shut down instead of telling someone how I feel. If I would just say something, it would avoid a lot of heartache.

I love: that I live in San Diego. I travel all the time, and being gone just reminds me how much I love living here and all the reasons why this is such a great place.

I ache: everytime I hear Jeff Buckley's "Last Goodbye". Look at these lyrics and tell me that you can't relate:

This is our last goodbye
I hate to feel the love between us die
But it's over
Just hear this and then i'll go
You gave me more to live for
More than you'll ever know

This is our last embrace
Must I dream and always see your face

I care: about giving back to the community. I haven't done much volunteer work lately, but it's something I try to do every year. And I am a sucker for donating to worthy causes.

I always: plan my own birthday party. I have a few different groups of friends - no one would be able to get everyone together without my help. Plus I am a perfectionist and like things done a certain way.

I am not: into PDA (public displays of affection). I hate those couples that are all over each other in public.

I dance: when I am drunk. And that's about the only time you'll ever see me dance.

I sing: all the time. There's always a song in my head.

I do not always: use a condom when I have sex. I know, that's totally horrible. And I'm not advocating it, either. I'm trying to be better about it, but it's hard (no pun intended).

I should not: date 5 guys at a time. But I do! My friends joke around about having to keep a scorecard to keep up.

I write: because I have something to say.

I win: free tickets to shows. It's cool to go to shows for free. Though I always buy tickets to shows that I really want to go to.

I lose: pounds and inches if I stay on plan and work out.

I listen: to my friends and try to be the kind of friend that you turn to when you want to talk about serious stuff.

I go: to places I have never been before and to places that I loved and want to go back to.

I am happy about: being alive and being so loved. I can only hope everyone else reading this feels the same way.

Back in the saddle

 Social Butterfly

So I am back. Nice to get away because I actually got stuff done while I was gone. I did 20 odd pages of my scrapbook this weekend. That’s awesome because I was so far behind. I’m on track to have everything caught up in the next few weeks, which is good because I only get busier as the end of the year approaches.

And I did go out last night. I skipped BSC and just went to the Lamp to hang with Boytoy. Had a few drinks, sang a couple of songs (Hole’s “Malibu” and Garbage’s “#1 Crush”.) Good times.

I didn’t have to work today, so I got up late and made breakfast and took a short walk (1.5 miles) and did errands. Now I’m off to to the gym and then (hopefully) to meet Emily for happy hour. My last few hours of freedom before getting back to the routine tomorrow.

Now where is that martini glass? Cheers.

Let It All Hang Out

 Venus vs. Mars

I don’t know how I managed to get all worked up about this thing with The Guy I Really Like while I am here in Vegas supposedly trying to have fun. I mean, it’s been fun and I’ve been out and about and what have you, but I think not seeing him before I left made me really miss him while I’ve been gone.

So I talked to him yesterday before we left to go out. And I was already buzzed while we were talking, but after numerous Vanilla Vodka/Diet Cokes at the Monte Carlo, I called him while we were waiting to catch the shuttle back to the condo. And you know what happens when you drunk dial. All sorts of things came out of my mouth.

See, things are complicated because I knew there were a few things working against us to begin with. Like the fact he doesn’t live in San Diego. Or that he’s taking 15 units this semester. Oh, and he works two jobs and one of those jobs is with a really good friend of mine, who doesn’t know any of this is going on. Yeah.

rawk on »

I know he can't give me everything I would like to have right now. I thought I was content for it to be that way. But that's not how it came across last night. I think I sounded like a whiny girl and I *hate* that. But because he's so cool, he was totally a sweetheart. I was really argumentative at some point and basically told him that if he told me to fuck off that I would never call him again. Because I am like that. You tell me to fuck off and I will. I'm not about hanging out where I am not wanted. And he told me he couldn't do that because he cares too much about us.

So where does that leave us? We're still doing this thing, but I think I need to back off a bit. Which is fine. I am a busy girl. When I get back home, I am going to bust my ass at the gym to combat all the good food I have been cooking (and eating). And the M & M's. Such a sucker for M & M's. And there's the social thing. And of course, all the time I put into work. Hopefully that will distract me enough to get my head on straight and get back to enjoying what I have with this guy instead of fucking it all up.

I feel much better now that I wrote about it all. Off to make some breakfast and to pack so I can head home. See you on the flip side.

Two Nights Worth Writing Home About

 Rawk Shows    Social Butterfly    Wanderlust

I made it to Vegas in one piece! Hooray!

But let me get back to Wednesday night, since I have to say that the Pinback show at the Belly Up was really good even if I didn’t get to hang with The Guy I Really Like. On Monday night when I went to FM 94/9’s CD listening party, I met Sara, the band’s rep from the record company. She’s from Chicago and seemed really nice. So I saw her at the show and we ended up hanging out for the night. Good times. Except we were hanging out in the reserved section with some VIP’s (read Halloran and Tom Delonge from Blink) when some sort of scuffle broke out and there was broken glass and people getting 86’d by security. That was not cool. Eh, it didn’t distract me from how good the band sounded. My favorite songs from their set were “AFK” and “Fortress”. Of course, the crowd went wild when they did “Penelope”. But that was to be expected since that is their most popular song.

Enough of that, you want to know about Vegas. We (Heather, Randy, and I) left for Vegas at 1pm and got here by 5.30pm - excellent time. And we all had a beer and then I left to go get groceries. I made fried rice and we grilled a few steaks and then it was off to the Nugget. After a couple of hours playing video poker and slots, we headed to the Horseshoe and played blackjack until about 2am.

So Heather’s man, Randy is super cool. I don’t always agree with her taste in men, but this one’s a winner. And all my apprehension about this trip dissolved somewhere between Barstow and Primm. I have had a great time so far!

And as an added bonus, I did get to talk to The Guy I Really Like. I feel kinda lame that I called him but I am glad I did. It just makes for a perfect ending to a stellar day.

.2 - at least it’s not my BAC

 Weighing In

Besides not being jacked up to go to Vegas, I am also a bit disappointed at today’s weigh in. I’ve been doing Weight Watchers since the end of February (33 weeks thank you very much) and have never gained an ounce at official weigh in. That is, until today. A whopping .2 lbs. Yes, that’s point 2. I know, stop tripping, right? You don’t know me very well then, because I AM TOTALLY TRAUMATIZED. I beat myself up all the way home and then proceeded to eat a bunch of these tortilla chips that I swear are the reason why I gained that point two. (Damn you, Trader Joe’s Spicy Flax Tortilla Chips, you taste just like Doritos!) All I know is that after my episode with the tortilla chips, I need a drink.

And thank God, that will happen tonight. I am going to the sold-out Pinback CD release show at the Belly Up in Solana Beach. And maybe, just maybe, I will get to hang out with The Guy I Really Like.

And then I’ll be able to get over myself and get back on plan. Tomorrow is another day and I’m coming back thinner, damn it!

Vegas, Baby, Vegas

 Wanderlust

I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow. And I cannot muster up any enthusiasm about going. I know, what is wrong with me? It’s not like I am going with lame people, I’m going with Karaoke Heather. Today is her birthday and we usually go somewhere to celebrate. So we’re staying at my timeshare resort, which will be super nice. But I’m just not into it this time. She’s bringing her new man and I asked The Guy I Really Like to come with, but he couldn’t work out the logistics to go. And then Boytoy was going to meet us there, but now his dad is coming into town so there goes that idea. So just me, Heather and this dude she’s seeing. I don’t know if I am just really disappointed that The Guy I Really Like can’t go or if I am a little apprehensive about hanging out with Heather and this dude. I think it’s more that I really wanted to spend more time with The Guy I Really Like. Sigh.

Now I don’t doubt we’ll have fun, because we will. I can’t have a bad time with Heather. And I decided to bring the first season of Alias to watch since I missed that season and also my photos from this year since it’s October and I haven’t even started on my photo album. So I’ll be busy during the day. And we’re planning to go to House of Blues on Friday night. That’s always a good time. So I just need to quit my whining and pack and get the hell out of here. Yeah, that’s it.
