Monday, Monday

 Rambling

So last night, I skipped BSC and just went to Lamp with Boytoy for a bit so I could sing (No Doubt “Spiderwebs") and that was that.

And I was all ready to get to work to face the day, but my car wouldn’t start.  Great. So I am at home waiting for the tow truck so I can drop it off at the dealer so I can get on with my day. But I am glad that whatever is wrong with my car didn’t strand me last night at whatever time I was rolling home. Thank God for small favors.

Anyways, hope everyone is having a better day than me. When I get the chance, I’ll post some pix from the last roll of film I picked up.

Celebrating Diversity and good cocktails

 Social Butterfly

Dude, what a day. After being up for 24 hours and getting a few hours of sleep, I got up to get ready to head down to Pride. And, as promised, I worked the Catholic School girl look with a plaid skirt, a halter top, and pigtails. I went to a pre-parade party hosted by Greg and Mark and had a bunch of jello shooters and champagne and then headed off to the parade.

We have a friend, Bill, who lives on 7th and Robinson, so we always watch the parade at Whole Foods since we can just troll down to Bill’s for more drinks and what have you when the parade gets boring. It was more of the same this year.

I paid more attention to the parade this year since FM 94/9 were there. So when I saw them coming, I got out there armed with my camera. And I saw a bunch of people I know from the station, but it was especially fun to see Jeremy out there (kiss, kiss). And James from promotions totally saw me and gave me condoms. Teehee. Once the 94/9 entourage was gone, I went back to Bill’s to find Emmalee completely plastered. Great. So we hung out more and then walked back to the shuttle. And of course, I ran into Shawn and Chastity Sean and Charity who I know from BSC and my friend Armand, who works at Mission Hills Cafe. Good to see them. Sean was rawking a Skinny Puppy t and a black kilt. And Armand cut his hair!  Definitely good to run into them.

So after I left Hillcrest, I went to hang out with my mom for a bit and then went home to chill to Jeremy’s show before going out tonight.

Jeremy was super cool - he gave me the surprise shout out and played one of my favorite chick rawk songs of all time - Luscious Jackson's "Naked Eye". Yeah, baby.

And then I rolled to Gathering for a few drinks before coming home. I have another party to go to tomorrow and then the evening is up in the air. I may or may not go to BSC tomorrow. Boytoy has been gone since Thursday, so that's a possibilty. And there are other things that could happen....so I will roll with it. Need to get out of my rut and do some fun things!

I did take a bunch of pictures today, so I will post those later this week. But now, I need to crawl into bed and try not to be distracted by Travis on air. rolleyes

Heart Full Of Black

 Social Butterfly

I just got back from a really great show at the Casbah. Joe and I went to see the Burning Brides tonight. We got there pretty early (10pm) and Will and Heather from BSC were already there. So we hung out in the back bar and played a horrendous game of pool until Jeremy and Owen showed up. We missed the two opening bands because it was more important to hang. But the main event did not disappoint. They put on a *rawking* show. They actually played the single “Heart Full of Black” in the middle of the set and it really was a momentum setter. Plus, they get extra points for the kick ass chick rawker bass player. We were all really into it. Joe, Jeremy, and Owen were their own air band. Joe on drums, Jeremy on bass, and Owen on guitar. It was a lot of fun.

After the show was over, we rolled into Lamp for one last drink and then I dropped Joe off. Good times.

And I can’t wait until tomorrow. I am totally going to rawk the Catholic school girl look....plaid skirt, halter top and pig tails. Don’t worry, there will be pictures.

OK Cupid Quiz

 Quiz Me

I wasn’t really intending on posting again today, but I have to be at work until 6 and I am bored. And I took this really cool quiz on OK Cupid.

I am The Playstation
(RGSMf)
Random (as opposed to Deliberate)
Gentle (as opposed to Brutal)
Sex (wants sex as opposed to love)
Master (as opposed to Dreamer)

rawk on »

Easy to turn on. Hard to beat. You are The Playstation.

You're a nice girl, and you have lots of sex. It's therefore highly likely that you're attractive, and you're certainly outgoing & friendly. Plus, this healthy physical attitude of yours indicates deeper emotional well-being and stability. Unheard of. When guys dare to dream, they dream of you.

You don't get attached too easily, and, to wit, you're not necessarily looking for something long-term right now. That's a bigger asset than you know. Though, physically speaking, you're open to anything, you're keeping your emotional side well-protected. This means there won't be a lot of wreckage to clean up whenever you decide to settle down.

In the meantime, the men you share yourself with actually respect you. Like them, you enjoy sex for its own sake and don't need any other validation for pleasure than pleasure itself. Hopefully, you have the good sense to blow off anyone who thinks less of you for that. Usually, this is the part of the description where we offer some life-correcting advice, but honestly, we can't think of anything about you we'd change. Keep on fucking, partner.

Your exact opposite:
The Priss
Deliberate Brutal Love Dreamer

ALWAYS AVOID: The Mixed Messenger

CONSIDER: Anyone else

Hmmm.....I'll buy into it. Take the quiz, what are you???

Much better, thanks

 Rambling

I had a pretty crappy week. If it wasn’t work, it was one of the boys in the harem. If not that, then it was my crazy family. And I was just so sick of everyone asking what was wrong or how I was doing. Yesterday, craptastic. Today - much better, thanks.

I mean, do most people really care how you are doing when they ask? I know you ask to be polite, but do you really give a rat’s ass if I am having a crappy day? Probably not. So, being the sarcastic person that I am, all I really want to do is to tell them to fuck off cause I know they *don’t* really care how I am doing, they are just being polite. I’m done with you polite people, leave me alone.

But enough already. I have a great attitude today, because I had a good weigh in. From last week, I lost 1.6 lbs. and am now down a total of 50.2 lbs. I rawk. (I see an Italian Charm bracelet in my future for this milestone.)

And I am going to have a great weekend. Tonight, I am pretty sure I will be at the Burning Brides show at the Casbah. And tomorrow, is Pride and I have a couple of parties to go to. Plus, I can’t miss Jeremy on the FM 94/9 float. I keep teasing him about dropping trou for boobs. We’ll see…

Have a great weekend!

The answer is…Craptastic

 Social Butterfly

I really don’t feel like writing today. I feel craptastic, just so you know. But I am obligated to tell everyone that all the BSC’ers flaked on the Lamp last night. Not that I was there by myself, because I wasn’t. (Emily, Boytoy, Russ, Tommy, etc.) And not like I didn’t totally *rawk* singing (Shania Twain “You’re Still The One”, the Wednesday night staple, Hole “Malibu”, and No Doubt “Hella Good").  And not like I am not totally hung over this morning. (Damn those red headed sluts.)

So, in lieu of something witty from me today, read my guest entry from yesterday at Joelle’s blog.

And have a good day cause I doubt you’ll see anything from me until tomorrow.

Hump Day Happening

 Social Butterfly

It’s Hump Day and I cannot tell you how glad I am that the week is halfway over. I didn’t end up going out last night (watched QE), so I am all ready for tonight.

And as promised, it will be a Lamp night. So come out and have cocktails and karaoke with me and whomever else shows up. (You BSC’ers better not flake! )

9ish...all right? If you need directions, go here.

Back Talk

Slacker:

Might I recommend the Alternative Station on Slacker? http://www.slacker.com/?sid=prog:28

Put it against any station you mentioned (including Ethel) and I think you’ll find it more dynamic, daring and focused on quality indie (which, in my book, is truly what a modern day Alt. band is).

You’ll also find most of the staples, although the rotations aren’t nearly as tight.

And, you won’t hear Metallica, AC/DC, Staind, or Disturbed on the Slacker Alternative station because there is nothing “Alternative” about any of those bands, in my book.

The best part, you can ban any song or artist you hate. Does it get any better? smile

Rosey:

I can’t tell if you were joking about Joshua James, but it’s a dude. There’s no chick vocals in the song.

Faith:

I don’t know how or why, but reading this post gave me goosebumps. :O

Awesome!

Christy:

I am big time dorking out to Charlotte Sometimes lately.

Max Beemis & co. are some of the most supreme douchebags around. You’re lucky not to have had to interact with them on their last trip through SD. In spite of that, I dig their tunes.

The Bronx KILL. I’m not sure how it’ll translate on Warp Tour, but I’ve seen them a few times at the Casbah and the smaller room at SOMA. SO killer.

Slacker Scott:

Interesting how they discussed that the Internet was the future but didn’t really have anyone on the panel that works at a music based web site. Maybe they should give sites like Slacker a listen. smile

Faith:

I love how those people are clearly out searching on Google for themselves, probably hoping to find a more positive commentary on their writing than he found here. That cracks me up! Hahahahahaha! I think that’s something my sis-in-law would do, and it’s an activity that makes me feel sorry for them a little bit…

[go]

Slacker Scott:

Apparently, you aren’t allowed to have an opinion of music, writing or anything else on your own blog unless it’s a positive one.

That bloviation is some of the most banal crap I’ve read in recent memory.

Unless you’re writing fiction, which that press kit one sheet may very well be, it’s kind of a golden rule that writers avoid the temptation to try and sound intelligent by using big words and semi-descriptive but completely useless language for the sole purpose of flexing their writing muscle.

In the end, it reads more like a sixth graders attempt at creative writing.

[go]

Christy:

Hahaha--I probably know that dude. Sorry--it *is* written terribly. Everyone tries so hard to be funny or ironic in their press descriptions, but so few are truly able to execute.

[go]

J-Sin:

Well yes, I definitely feel humbled by someone known as a “Chick Rawker”.
