Does It Offend You, Yeah @ Casbah
If you walked into the Casbah last night during Does It Offend You, Yeah’s set, you would have thought that you were in a dance club. The crowd was totally digging the Brit dance rock. Morgan Quaintance (vocals, synths, guitar) and James Rushent (bass, vocals) (along with Dan Coop on synths and Rob Bloomfield on drums), wowed all of us with their stage antics and of course, their charming Brit accents. Morgan and James switch off on vocals and they are the perfect foil to each other. Morgan has a mellow but happy presence, whereas James is the more intense one.
DIOYY ripped through a dancetastic set - playing the gems from their recently released album You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into. I didn’t keep a set list - it was either photos and dancing or take notes. Photos and dancing won that battle. Some of the standout songs were “With a Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You)”, “Attack of the 60 Ft Lesbian Octopus”, and my personal favorite (which they played early in the set), “Let’s Make Out”.
I took a bunch of photos, which you can check out here.
P.S. Go check them out on hype. You dancypants peeps will LOVE it.
P.P.S. Just announced - DIOYY will be touring with NIN for a few dates this summer. Awesome!
