It’s About The Music
Today is the 2nd Anniversary of FM 94/9. Before this station came into being, I had lost all hope of ever tuning into radio for music. Once upon a time, there was actually good radio in this town. Bad radio owned by the devil was not always the norm. At some point, I just gave up and started listening to sports talk radio. But this radio station has restored my faith in FM radio. And the main reason this station works is the people that run the station. Garett and Halloran love what they do. And they love music. If you listen to either one of them for a few minutes, you know that this is in their blood. It’s what they live for. I have met some great people through this station, not just other listeners, but Garett and Halloran themselves, and, of course, the DJ’s. And we’re all bound together by the music that we love and our need to see it live and the fact that we care that the airwaves are not polluted by stations that play crap.
So cheers to FM 94/9, who has changed the face of alternative radio, not only in San Diego, but in other markets, too. Here’s to many more years of success. And congrats on being voted Best Radio Station from the readers of San Diego City Beat. You know you had my vote. Oh, and even more congrats for kicking that other station’s ass in the summer book. You guys rule.
