I’ve been slacking on listening to music for MM...so you get a MM/Hot Picks hybrid. Which are actually kinda fun for me because it forces me to listen to new stuff that other stations are adding. But that’s just me, the radio geek.

Can’t say that there are any surprises here. Mutemath, Against Me! and Paramore are edging up the alt rock charts. And you know every PD in the country is salivating over new Foos.

The usual recipient of my gold star gets it again. The Cribs is a CSS remix, which should give you a good idea what it sounds like. New Pinback is worthy of attention outside of SD. And the YYY is a live performance from Letterman.

Silverstein is on tour with Rise Against. I’ve been a huge Rise Against fan in the past, but this opener is baffling me a bit so I haven’t rushed to get a ticket for that show. I mean, Silverstein is one of those horrible Victory Records bands. Judge for yourself.

These three songs couldn’t be more different from each other. The Bravery is utterly forgettable. Fiction Plane does nothing for me either. (I mean, would anyone really care if the lead singer wasn’t Sting’s son?) And the H.I.M. seems way out of place since they are like goth-metal.
