New In Stores and on the Radio
I feel so out of touch with new releases because I didn’t even look to see what came out last week. (I’m vaguely remembering Foos and Stars, but that’s it.) But there is definitely stuff to mention so here goes....
In stores 10/2:
Cake B-Sides And Rarities
I was surprised to see this on the list. Seems like Indie Blogger nation has been talking about this forever.
The Cult Born Into This
Have yet to hear any of the new Cult. Need to get on that.
Dashboard Confessional The Shade Of Poison Trees
Well, anything has to be better than the last album. I’m listening on myspace as I’m writing this and it seems to be a return to proper form.
PJ Harvey White Chalk
I can never get enough of PJ Harvey.
Impacting on radio this week:
The Almost - Southern Weather
If you didn’t know, this is the side project of Aaron Gillespie from Underoath. The first single rode the top 10 for quite awhile.
Biffy Clyro - Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies
Their set at Street Scene totally won me over.
Breaking Benjamin - Until The End
In heavy rotation at a nightmare CC station near you.
Dashboard Confessional - Thick As Thieves
Still holding out on an opinion for this. Maybe after I see them in KC. (I’m missing the SD show because I am flying into Sacramento that day.)
Fair To Midland - Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes
Not warming up to this at all.
Hellyeah - Alcohaulin’ Ass
This belongs on active rock stations.
Modest Mouse - We’ve Got Everything
Probably my favorite from this album.
