In Stores and On The Radio
I’m leaving Dallas and headed to Kansas City this morning. Woo hoo. But I figured I might as well post this since it is done.
In stores this week (7/17):
Chemical Brothers We Are The Night
Already out in the UK. Listen on myspace.
Editors An End Has A Start
Listen on their myspace. Don’t miss them at Street Scene.
Mighty Six Ninety Cheers to the Bitter End
Are these guys claiming they are local to SD? In any case, as a fan of radio, I dig their name. Their tunes are pretty good as well. Listen here or go see them at the Casbah tomorrow for Anti-Monday League.
MxPx Secret Weapon
Are these guys over yet or what? You decide here.
Rooney Calling The World
This L.A. band has yet to make their impact in SD. The XTRA of old would have been all over this...we’ll see what station picks it up (KPRI? KCSF?) You can listen on their myspace.
Yellowcard Paper Walls
Seems like yesterday that “Lights and Sounds” tanked. We’ll see how this one does. Check it out on myspace.
Impacting on radio:
30 Seconds To Mars - A Beautiful Lie
Their previous two singles had legs on the radio. (Did you know that “The Kill (Bury Me)” has been on the charts for over a year?)
The Academy Is… - Everything We Had
Power pop ballad. Swoon. NOT!
Coldwar Kids - Hospital Beds
Definitely not as catchy as “Hang Me Up To Dry”.
Mando Diao - The Wildfire (If It Was True)
I really like this album. So I’m all for more Mando Diao on the radio.
Silversun Pickups - Well Thought Out Twinkles
Ten stations (Sirius, KITS, KWOD, KDLD, KNRK, KVGS, KBZT, WAVF, KNDD and WFNX) already have this on heavy rotation.
