Cantore On The San Diego Beach
Multiple Opportunities At 91X
By Mike Stern
Chris Cantore exits mornings at Finest City alternative XTRA-FM/San Diego. His co-host Jenifer White had left the station in November for CBS hot AC/triple A hybrid KSCF ().
Program director Phil Manning says, “We thank them for their dedication to the radio station,” adding, “It’s time for a new chapter in morning drive for 91X.”
The outgoing show’s producer Ruggy is currently holding the down the morning fort with some help from other airstaff members.
Manning is currently searching for a new show. The gig is wide open as he looks for “a show that embraces the radio station and is consistent with the musical mission while at the same time is able to entertain people about everything going on in the world.”
Manning is also still searching for a replacement for night host/imaging director Kallao, who exited the station recently. He could even use a weekender or two.
As I hate to be one sided about this, you should also check out Cantore’s blog on myspace. Lots of nice words from his listeners.
I really don’t have anything to say that hasn’t already been said. 2008 will be an interesting year in SD radio.
