Official - Kallao headed to Milwaukee
Wanted to wait for an official confirmation before I mentioned - Kallao is leaving our fine city for Milwaukee.
From Radio and Records:
Milwaukee Radio Alliance alternative WLUM (FM 102/1)/Milwaukee has named Stephen Kallao as APD/afternoon host. He replaces Chris Calef, who exits to pursue an MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin. Kallao officially arrives July 14.
(more info if you rawk on)
P.S. We’ll miss you, Kallao.
"I am coming to WLUM to renew my faith in radio," Kallao says. "It will be fun and will require much less overhead than starting an Alpaca farm."
"I love Kallao's use of hyperbole," WLUM PD Jacent Jackson remarks. "He also really completes the puzzle here at FM 102.1 and we are now poised to become one of the most successful stations in the format. Coincidentally, because of the land available surrounding our studios, we will also be able to sell high quality, soft and silky Alpaca rugs. We're pleased that our suburban studio location in Menomonee Falls has helped us to land such a talent."
Kallao has made his mark at a number of America's finest alternative stations, most recently as imaging director/night host at Finest City Broadcasting XTRA (91X)/San Diego. Other stops have included KFMA/Tucson (APD/afternoons), KNRK/Portland, Ore., (afternoons), and KQXR/Boise, Idaho, (APD/MD/nights) where he previously worked with Jackson.
