Release of the Week: The Duke Spirit - Neptune
Neptune is the Duke Spirit’s sophomore album. It was produced by Chris Goss (Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age) right here in Cali. It’s a really cool mixture of different genres - a little retro pop ("The Step and the Walk") bluesy and souful ("Dog Roses” and “Wooden Heart") but somehow it rocks too. And then there is Leila Moss’ voice. Tough yet vulnerable, sexy yet sweet. Lots of good buzz about their live shows - from the look of this photo, it’s a good time.

They are back in the US - heading out on tour with one of my faves BRMC - but alas, no SD date. In any case, you should check out the album. (Especially if you like bands like Garbage, the Raveonettes and Metric. Duke Spirit is right up your alley.)
