The hype thus far:
Fans of Gossip Girl are already hip to The Ting Tings as “Shut Up and Let Me Go” (easily my personal favorite) and “We Started Nothing” have already been featured on the show. “Shut Up and Let Me Go” was also featured on an i-pod commercial and we all know what kind of exposure that brings to an artist (hello, Feist...) The British press (especially NME) have written tons of ink:
“The future of British music is exploding in a glitter-rock starburst… The Ting Tings magnificent pop beast has emerged”— NME
So yes, it is dancy. Katie White’s vocals dominate so think dancy chick pop. Come on, you know you’re in. I know I am.
Don’t Miss These Tracks:
“Great DJ” - it starts out reminding me a bit of the Cardigans and then gets all electro pop on you. The chorus is infectious.
“Shut Up and Let Me Go” - it’s pure ‘tude from the get go.
“We Walk” - it tricks you by starting out softly, but brings you to full dancy pants satifisfaction by the end.
