Show of the week: Annuals and Manchester Orchestra at Epicentre
Show of the week: Annuals and Manchester Orchestra at Epicentre on Friday 11/16
It’s a slow week for shows, and even though this one is at one of my least favorite venues, this is a show I’m not gonna miss. A little about the two bands. The Annuals are from North Carolina and have received lots of love from Indie Blogger Nation. I saw the Annuals open up for Blonde Redhead in April and loved their live set. You can read my glowing review here. Manchester Orchestra are from the ATL and I caught them opening for Kings of Leon in September. I was also very impressed by their live set. Their album “I’m Like A Virgin Losing A Child” has brought them much critical acclaim from media outlets such as Rolling Stone, Spin, Alt Press, Paste and the NYT.
So, I’ve got a pair of tix to give away for this show. E - me or hit me back in comments by Wednesday at noon and I will pick a winner and let you know on Thursday. And to get you all geeked up for the show, here are some tunes....
Listen: (These are from their tour only 7” split.)
Annuals covering Manchester Orchestra’s “Where Have You Been”
Manchester Orchestra covering Annuals’ “Brother”
Bonus listens:
