Show Preview: Office and Tigercity at Casbah on Tuesday
There’s a show going on at the Casbah next week on Tuesday that you must check out. Office and Tigercity were made to tour with each other. They’ve both got this dancy pants vibe to them though their approach is completely different.
A little about Office. They are a Chicago based band that recently released “A Night at the Ritz” on Scratchie Records (owned by none other than Mr. James Iha.) The record is a compilation of remastered previously released material along with two new songs - “The Ritz” and “Paralyzed Prince”. I first heard them on Slacker’s Indie Hits station and I was hooked. I love listening to this record when I am getting ready to go out. It’s an instant mood enhancer.
Tigercity is a band based out of Brooklyn NY. I saw them earlier this year at HOB where they really impressed me with their awesome live show. I admit, I have a weak spot for falsettos and bands that cite Prince as an influence. Tigercity released their EP “Pretend Not To Love” on i-tunes earlier this year. (Read my review here.) This EP has my personal fave “Other Girls” and is a good time all around.
So, you know you want to come hang out with me at this show. And I happen to have a spot on the guest list (plus 1) for a lucky reader. So hit me up in comments or via email by Friday and I will pick a winner and get you on the list. But even if you don’t win, you should go. I mean, what else is there to do on a Tuesday night?
