Catching Up on the Charts
Got in early for once so I figured I’d catch up on the charts since it’s been a couple of weeks.
Triple A:
1. Dave Matthews Band - Funny The Way It Is
2. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
3. Coldplay - Life in Technicolor II
4. U2 – Magnificent
5. Wilco - You Never Know
6. Green Day - 21 Guns
7. Gomez - Airstream Driver
8. Snow Patrol – Crack the Shutters
9.James Morrison - Nothing Ever Hurt Like You
10. Mat Kearney - Closer To Love
Can KOL complete the cross chart success and knock DMB out of the top spot? Maybe. Nice to see Wilco in the top 10. Also not surprised to see the Green Day - “21 Guns” is so made for triple A radio.
Alt rock:
1. Linkin Park - New Divide
2. Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch
3. Cage the Elephant – No Rest For the Wicked
4. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
5. Green Day - Know Your Enemy
6. Anberlin - Feel Good Drag
7. Incubus - Black Heart Inertia
8. Seether – Careless Whisper
9. Franz Ferdinand - No You Girls
10. Rise Against - Audience Of One
SSPU hit #1 for a brief moment, but tough to beat the Linkin Park juggernaut. Cage the Elephant at #3 is nice. And a surprise at #9 - check out Franz Ferdinand breaking the top 10.
From the rest of the chart –
12. Green Day - 21 Guns
Not surprised to see the second Green Day single angling for the top 10.
13. Taking Back Sunday - Sink Into Me
I’m a bit over Adam Lazzara’s schtick...still not growing on me.
15. Manchester Orchestra – I’ve Got Friends
Very nice.
24. Kings of Leon - Notion
KOL still have 3 songs in the top 40 - I’m gonna say it will take a couple more weeks for this to crack the top 10.
26. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Zero
I’m really surprised that radio hasn’t embraced this song - it’s freaking awesome and perfect sing-in-your-car music.
27. Metric - Help Me I’m Alive
Still looking good.
32. Airborne Toxic Event - Wishing Well
ATE’s second single is doing well. “Sometime Around Mdnight” is also charting on triple A. Love to see them getting national attention.
