Fitz and The Tantrums at Voodoo 2011

So awesome to see Fitz and the Tantrums at another festival. I was a bit worried when we first got to the stage as there were like 50 people there, but it ended up filling up nicely. Set list first:

Don’t Gotta Work It Out
Winds of Change
Breakin’ the Chains of Love
Wake Up
Pickin’ Up The Pieces
Steady As She Goes (Raconteurs cover)
Rich Girls
L.O.V.
Dear Mr. President
News 4 U
Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics cover)
Moneygrabber

Another stellar performance by Fitz, Noelle and the band. This band is made for a town like NOLA. It was high energy from start to finish and despite being pretty damn cold, lots of heat was being generated by the crowd. We were surprised at how many people around us knew the words to the songs; I wasn’t surprised by everyone dancing along and really feeling their set. Loved that they did the Raconteurs cover again; I suppose it was almost a given since the Raconteurs are headlining on Sunday. The new song “Wake Up” is a good one to mix in as well; it fit in seamlessly in the set. The audience participation bits went well - especially during “Sweet Dreams”. The set ending “Moneygrabber” ensured that the crowd left on a high note, the buzz was great as we left the stage.
